Isaiah 6022
The “Isaiah 6022” band: Taken from the Bible Verse: When the time is right, the Lord will make it happen, a Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Region 8 band, has achieved notable success in various music competitions.
Currently, the band’s original song composition “Gabay” (soon to be released to the public) is chosen as the official BJMP Anniversary 2024 theme song.
The band has competed on National & Regional levels primarily in Songwriting competitions from 2021 up to the present. They also performed at various events, including a Music Festival for Peace at the People’s Center in Tacloban City on December 26, 2022. They also performed as a guest during the Battle of the Bands “MUSIKA LABAN SA INSURHENSIYA” (Music Against Insurgency), an event aimed at saving youth from the deceptive recruitment of children into armed conflict. This event was held at the LNU Gym in Tacloban City on October 1, 2022.
The band represents the BJMP’s commitment to changing lives and building a safer nation. They are part of the agency’s efforts towards the safekeeping and development of the Persons Deprived of Liberty or PDL. The band’s performances are a testament to the potential and talent that can be nurtured even within the confines of the jail system.
Band awards and recognitions:
- 2021 – Champion, and their Original Song composition “Tagapangalaga” was selected as the BJMP 3oth Anniversary theme song.
– 2nd Place, Regional Civil Service Songwriting Competition. - 2022 – Top 5, Eastern Visayas Music Festival Songwriting Competition.
- 2023 – 3rd Place, Songwriting Competition (National Level) “Superwoman” in celebration of National Women’s Month.
- 2024 – “Gabay” Original Song composition – Selected as the BJMP 33rd Anniversary theme song.
The band’s accomplishments have not gone unnoticed. They have participated in numerous events and even got the opportunity to be interviewed by GMA Regional News TV.
Through their music, “Isaiah 60 22” continues to represent the potential for change and growth within the BJMP system. They serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration, proving that talent and creativity can flourish even in the most unexpected places.
This band truly embodies the spirit of resilience and the power of music.
